Paintball gun’s shooting range
Paintball gun’s shooting range
Paintball markers
have different shooting ranges depending on the make, the type of paintball game and the position of the target.
Below
are the three basic ranges that a paintball gun can shoot.
· (i) Effective range
This is the first concern range of
a paintball gun that must be effective.
It
is a tricky equation trying to balance between the paintball being hard
enough to pass through the marker’s barrel and go on to actually break when it
hits the target.
The effective range can be achieved successfully if the
gun has the required speed and the range varies between 80-100 feet.
If you are targeting marks that are way out
of the gun’s effective range, unless yours is one of the best long range paintball marker, then the paintball may not break even if it hits
the target.
· (ii) Safe range
It is the range in which the speed
is controlled to ensure that the paintball shoots in a safe manner.
Paintballs
can be very dangerous to the opponent if shot at an extremely high velocity.
Registered fields and centers have a limit of speed for the velocity of the
shot of your paintball markers to ensure safety.
· (iii) Absolute range
This range is the full distance of
a paintball gun’s shooting range. Most guns have a maximum FPS which is frames
per second.
Absolute range differs from one gun to another but most of them can
shoot up to 150 yards .
Therefore, this is the limit of how far or powerful a paintball gun can shoot.
To wrap it up, there are different paintball
shooting ranges depending on the type of gun, type of paintball game and target position.
There are two
things you can do to increase the distance at which your gun can reach. You can
either change the shape of the ball or change the rotation of the paintball.
